University of Texas: Website Redesign
UT Austin is home to nearly 51,000 students. At the time they engaged with Springbox to update an outdated site, neither students nor faculty were utilizing it as a helpful resource.
The Ask
As one of the largest universities in the country, UT Austin needed a modern, responsive, and extensible site. Their needs included:
A site-wide content audit.
Updated information architecture to reflect organizational changes.
Reusable Drupal templates that could not only be used for the core site, but also to serve as the foundation for individual schools within the university structure.
A fully responsive site, easily accessible and usable for mobile users.
My Role: Content Strategist & UX Researcher
Responsibilities:
Audited and evaluated content on thousands of pages.
Helped conduct over 25 stakeholder interviews across the university.
Created key personas and user journeys.
Implemented modular UX design and templates to support individual colleges within the university.
Researched and implemented improved search functionality.
The Results
A fully responsive, accessible site for the main university pages.
A roadmap for implementation across all colleges within the university.
